How to Quickly Change a Look
At Blind Builders here in Feasterville, we frequently hear from our customers that they get bored with how their room (or whole house) looks but don’t have the budget to change it. We’re here to say that budget isn’t necessarily a roadblock—we have a variety of ways to update the look of space without breaking the bank. Check them out below!

Adding or repositioning an area rug can vastly impact the way a room looks and feels by bringing in color and texture, and by manipulating the traffic pattern. The rug can bring a cozy vibe, create a conversation zone, or coordinate an entire look.
Focus on Furniture
If you haven’t rearranged the furniture in a while, take a look at how you might position it differently. Changing the layout of a space can greatly impact how it appears to the eye and how you feel about it overall. Plus, you might even open up space for a different use. You might be surprised at what can change even with the same pieces you already have. If it sounds simple, don’t worry—it is!
Bring in Nature
If you don’t already have houseplants, consider adding one or two—they can bring in a sense of the outdoors, add a splash of color, and tie together a new look. They can even be practical—grow a small herb garden so you can add flavor to your meals. Or if you’re afraid you don’t have a green thumb, look at suggestion boards for ways to create homemade wreaths, candle holders, or other objects using natural materials. These little natural add-ons can help make any room look and feel more inviting, elevate the space, and help tie to nature’s own aesthetic.
Use Drapery
You might be amazed to discover that drapery can resize your room. It’s true—how drapery is installed can impact whether the room seems taller or wider. For example, if the rod is closer to the ceiling, the room will gain height, and if the rod sits four to six inches outside of the window frame, the room will gain width. Short drapery will minimize the space while longer drapery (breaking just above the floor or puddling on the ground) will elongate the room. Note: if you’re working with existing drapery and are afraid it’s not the right length to move your rod, consider adding a coordinating valance to give you the extra inches.
